An Air France passenger jet carrying more than 300 people has crashed as it attempted to land at Toronto airport in Canada.
According to airport officials all 297 passengers and 12 crew members on board survived the accident although there were some minor injuries.

The Airbus A340 caught fire after skidding off the runway while trying to land at Toronto's Pearson International Airport shortly after 4 pm local time on Tuesday.
Witnesses said the plane appeared to land normally but then overshot the end of the runway and fell into a ravine where it caught fire.
One of the passengers on board the plane, Olivier Dubos, told Canadian TV station the lights in the plane went out a minute before the landing.
"It was scary, really, really scary."
Conditions at the time of the accident were stormy with heavy rain and thundershowers.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
