Twenty Iraqis are believed dead and dozens more wounded after a suicide bomber struck a recruitment center for police commandos in western Baghdad.

An Interior Ministry spokesman, Colonel Adnan Abdul-Rahman, told China's Xinhua News Agency that a suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest blew himself up among a crowd of would-be police commandos queuing outside a recruitment center, near Nussur Square in western Baghdad.
The attack pushed the death toll to more than 1,400 people killed since Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari announced his Shiite-led government on April 28.
