"It is disturbing that consultations on the council expansion are held on an individual basis, and in a way that allows some African countries to isolate other parties in the continent," said Abul Gheit.
Some African foreign ministers whose countries are hopeful for a membership in the Security Council have made contacts during the last two days to settle an agreement speeding up a vote on the framework draft on the enlargement.
The draft does not agree with the resolutions adopted by the African Union (AU) summit held on July 4-5 in Sirte, Libya.
Abul Gheit warned that some African countries had taken hasty decisions to make concessions to some international parties on the issue of enlargement, saying he was closely following up an attempt to hijack the African stance and manipulate it without consultation with the African Union.
The 53-member AU has submitted a draft resolution to the UN General Assembly calling for the addition of six permanent members with veto power to the UN Security Council, adding that two seats should be for Africa.
The G4, comprising Germany, Japan, India and Brazil, are seeking four permanent seats for themselves and two others for Africa in a draft resolution submitted on Monday.
