North Korea calls for an in-depth discussion at the upcoming round of the six-party nuclear talks.

North Korean Foreign Ministry said Pyongyang would try its best to make substantial progress in the fourth round of talks for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

The ministry attributed the stalled multilateral talks to Washington's reluctance to recognize Pyongyang as an equal dialogue partner.

It added the latest contact between North Korean and US officials showed that any problem could be settled when the parties concerned were sincere to do so.

Earlier, North Korean chief nuclear negotiator Kim Kye-gwan and his US counterpart Christopher Hill announced in Beijing that the talks would resume on July 25.

China, the US, Russia, Japan, South and North Korea have so far held three rounds of nuclear talks in Beijing.
