Red Square Parade to Mark VE Day Anniversary

Related Event: 60th Anniversary of WWII Victory

Dozens of world leaders including Chinese President Hu Jintao attended a full military parade in Moscow's Red Square, Monday.

Throughout Russia, parades and concerts were held to mark 60 years since the end of World War II.

Bush met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the eve of the commemoration ceremony and praised the Red Army's victory.

Recently, European countries have launched a variety of activities to honor the victory or pay homage to the victims of the war.

The Soviet Union fought many of the decisive battles of the war, losing about 27 million of its soldiers and citizens.
