Russia: Ukraine Getting Close to EU Not to Affect thier Relationship

The visiting Russian Secretary of the Security Council Igor Ivanov has said that Ukraine's developing ties with the European Union should not affect Russia-Ukraine relations.

Ivanov made the remark at a press conference after meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Pyotr Poroshenko on Friday in Kiev .

He said the pro-EU policy is Ukrainian choice, but it shouldn't affect bilateral relation between the two countries including military cooperation.

Ivanov added that there are still some problems in the bilateral relations. And two sides should try to solve issues by considering the interests of both sides. They should maintain healthy political and economic development.
