Israel has decided to postpone handing over security control of the West Bank city of Jericho to the Palestinian National Authority due to a dispute over details of the transfer.
The two sides were unable to resolve a disagreement over the size of the territory that will be handed over and the placement of Israel Defense Forces roadblocks around Jericho.
Israel has agreed to transfer to the Palestinian security control a total of five West Bank cities. After Jericho, the West Bank cities of Tul Karm and Qalqilyah will likely be the next cities to be handed over to the PNA.
