Beijing is the last leg of the delegation's mainland tour which has been dubbed a "journey of the Chinese nation".
Our reporter Lin Lin has the story.
Reporter:
The Marco Polo Bridge is located just outside Wan Ping city in southwest Beijing. The marble bridge itself is a great work of eleven arches, restored by the Kangxi Emperor in Qing Dynasty.
This bridge is the site of the Japanese provocations on July 7,1937 that resulted in its invasion of China up through Beijing.
The Marco Polo Bridge Incident marked the beginning of the war between China and Japan.
The War of Resistance lasted eight-years, and left more than 35 million Chinese dead or wounded.
The New Party delegation was greeted by visitors and local residents, who welcomed the Taiwan guests with applause.
Amid the crowds, He Guan is holding a banner that reads "Descendant of a Chinese army commander welcomes the visiting New Party delegation ".
He Guan is the son of a veteran Chinese commander, He Jifeng, who was in charge of a troop force safeguarding the Marco Polo Bridge when the Incident happened.
"We are of one family. We should work together. The Taiwan Staight cannot keep us apart. The Marco Polo Bridge spirit of unity must carry on so we can reunify the Chinese nation."
Concluding the Marco Polo Bridge tour, the New Party delegation came to the Memorial Hall of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
Built in 1987, it's the only large-scale hall dedicated to the history of the War.
The Memorial has become an important site of commemoration for all, especially the younger generation.
The exhibition site features historical photographs and articles as well as documentary shows of this tragic chapter of the Chinese history.
After touring the Memorial Hall, Yok Mu-ming said victory in this war is priceless.
"We are here to learn from and remember history. The past must be remembered as a guide for the future. That bloody episode of our history was disastrous to millions of our fellow Chinese. That period of history made us angry. It cost us too much."
Yok Mu-ming recalled the second collaboration between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China during the war. He added that Chinese people from both sides of the Straight should work together.
"People from Taiwan are also Chinese people. We cannot forget the price our ancestors paid for the current prosperity of Taiwan. All Chinese people must remember our history. We should be united, after going through all these atrocities, to strive for prosperity of the whole Chinese nation."
The New Party delegation's visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of China's victory in the anti-Japanese War as well as the end of the Second World War.
Themed a "journey of the Chinese nation", the New Party delegation started its 8-day visit to the mainland a week ago, paying tribute to those who fought against the Japanese invasion during World War II.
