Two ships carrying fruit and agricultural produce from Taiwan have arrived in Fuzhou, the capital of Southeast China's Fujian Province.

It's the large-scale shipment of Taiwan fruit to arrive on the mainland, following recent improvements in cross-Strait relations.

The 50-ton shipment arrived in Fuzhou on Sunday. It was organized by two companies from the mainland and Taiwan who are working on promoting sales of the fruit in the province.

Beijing's Taiwan Affairs office is offering exemption from customs duties for more than 10 kinds of Taiwan fruit and is allowing imports of six more fruit species, bringing the total to 18.
