Overseas Chinese Highly Praise Lien's Visit

Overseas Chinese have highly praised the meeting between Kuomintang leader Lien Chan and General Secretary of Chinese Communist Party Hu Jintao saying it has historic significance.

The handshake between the two leaders symbolizes the Chinese people's capability and wisdom to solve the interior affairs in the country. The peaceful reunification will be an irresistible trend.

Overseas Chinese in Colombia stated that Hu Jintao and Lien Chan held a landmark meeting to seek common grounds while reserving differences.

The Association for Promotion of the Peaceful Unification of China in Bulgaria also agree with this view.

Overseas Chinese in the United States also expressed that the talks between the two leaders demonstrated that calling for peace, stability and development will be the leading theme across the Taiwan Straits.
