Related Event: 50 Years after Bandung

Chinese President Hu Jintao together with leaders from over 40 Asian and African countries has attended the celebrating activities for commemorating the golden jubilee of the Bandung Conference.

Leaders and representatives including Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will deliver speeches to mark the occasion.

As co-hosts, Susilo and South African President Thabo Mbeki will sign the Declaration of the Asian-African New Strategic Partnership.

The first Asian-African summit meeting, the Bandung Conference, was held in 1955, which is the first international conference held by Asian and African countries without western ones.
