Chinese President Hu Jintao arrives for the opening of the Asian-African leaders summit in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, April 22, 2005.

The Asian-African Summit 2005 opened in Jakarta Friday morning to work for a new Asian-African strategic partnership.

Chinese President Hu Jintao and some 90 leaders of other Asian and African countries or their representatives are attending the meeting.

Earlier on Thursday, Chinese President Hu Jintao delivered a speech at the official reception of the Asian-African Business Summit in Jakarta.
