Urban Unemployment Rate 4.2 Percent

China's urban-registered unemployment rate marked 4.2 percent at the end of the third quarter.

Statistics quoted by Sunday's Economy Daily report the number was level with same period last year.

The statistics show that in the first three quarters, a total of 12 million people found jobs or were re-employed.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security said the number of urban Chinese employed will near 280 million by the end of the year.

This year, China has taken a range of measures, including special financial support, job training and job hunting services to alleviate the employment pressure, helping graduates and those who have difficulties in find jobs.
