2005-11-28 19:36:14      CRIENGLISH.com
China has stepped up earthquake relief efforts in Jiangxi Province.

The situation has been calm, as locals have been well provided with all necessities.

The China Earthquake Administration has dispatched more than 50 experts to the earthquake sites to monitor latest development, using 11 different devices. Primary and middle schools have re-opened for students.

Jiangxi's Jiujiang city was hit by a 5.7-magnitude earthquake on Saturday and has also reported some aftershocks. Neighboring Hubei and Anhui Provinces were also affected by the quake.

China's Ministry of Civil Affairs reports that up to 11 AM on Sunday the toll from the earthquake stood at 13 people dead and over 8,000 people injured.
