The State Forestry Administration says there have been no cases of bird flu among wild birds in China.
The administration's spokesman, Cao Qingyao, notes China is carrying out real time monitoring on wild animals, saying the spreading of the virus might be linked to the move of migratory birds from September to November.
He added scientists in more than one hundred monitoring stations across China will promptly inspect, analyze and report potential cases of abnormal deaths in birds.
Earlier, Sweden confirmed at least one case of bird flu, but said it was not yet known if it was the deadly strain that has swept through Asia.
The H5N1 strain has devastated poultry stocks across Asia and killed 61 people in the last two years. The strain has recently been found in birds in Russia, Turkey and Romania.
