To commemorate history, and to plan for the future. Asian and African leaders first endorsed continued solidarity and wider cooperation in Jakarta and then they paid respect to Bandung, where their dream first started 50 years ago.

The new strategy outlines cooperation in three areas, political solidarity, economic links and cultural exchanges, as compared to only political solidarity in 1955.
