Winners of the 2005 National Chemistry Contest for Senior High School Students will have the opportunity for admission into 19 top Chinese universities, such as Tsinghua and Beijing universities, without taking the entrance examinations.
Sponsored by East China University of Science and Technology and Shanghai Association of Chemical Industry, the national contest has attracted 160 chemistry elites from 30 regions since it started on Friday. Contestants will compete for the top prize and tickets to the International Chemistry Olympics. The contest is scheduled to wrap up in the city tomorrow.
