An exhibition featuring 100 traditional Chinese stringed instruments made during different dynasties is to be held at Beijing Huguang Guild Hall from January 25.
The exhibition will feature a guqin, or seven stringed instrument, from the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) collected by famous guqin maker Tian Shuangkun. It will also display some precious huqin made by masters from Beijing and Tianjin, and the so-called artistic jinghu made by Liu Zhenghui.
In order to give visitors a better introduction to the history and making process of the musical instruments, some simple tools for instrument making will also be displayed.
