The Seventh China Arts Festival opens Friday in east China's Hangzhou city.

50 of the country's best traditional stage plays will compete for the most prized of the festival's awards – the Wenhua Awards.

105 awards will also go to amateurs of all ages in the fields of music, dance, fine arts, drama, folk arts, photography, and calligraphy.
