The 6th China International Folk Art Festival, the largest ever in the country, started today (Saturday), attracting nearly 500 artists from more than 20 countries. The artists sang and danced in Huangshan, a city known for mountains in Anhui Province, east China. The performances, amid the 7-day national holiday celebrating the 55th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China, will be staged also in areas surrounding Huangshan through Oct. 7. From Oct. 8 to 11, 11 selected performances by foreign troupes will be shown in Beijing, and then in Shanxi Province the week after.
