China-French Culture Year's opening ceremony has begun in the Forbidden City in Beijing.

China-French Culture Year's opening ceremony has begun in the Forbidden City in Beijing.



A concert performed by Jean Michel Jarre is the first program of the ceremomy.

It is designed that the final part of the ceremony will be held in Tiananmen Square.

Relics from the life of Charles De Gualle will be exhibited in China's Century Altar.

French impressionist paintings are also now on exhibit.

Chinese President Hu Jintao and French President Jacque Chirac attended the opening ceremony.
