The Paris Opera Ballet and China Central Ballet Ensemble came together to stage the famous ballet Sylvia at Peking University on Thursday night.

As one of the most popular works of 19th Century French composer Clement Philibet Leo Delibes, Sylvia is the perfect prelude for the French Cultural Year in China.

This is the second time the National Ballet of China has performed in exchange activities between China and France, following the successful performance of the ballet "Raise the Red Lantern" in France last November.

Sylvia, a tale of romance between humans and supernatural beings, will also be performed at the Shanghai International Arts Festival before it moves on to Hong Kong and Macao.
