Police from the police station in Tiananmen Square say people who want to watch the daily flag raising ceremony must be brought into Tiananmen Square by the police.

The time of the event is published the day before in the newspaper, and the spuare opens to the public 40 minutes before the event.

Police say old people and children should stand closest to the flag mast.
