To promote English studies in Beijing, a fair with English was held this morning  in the Working People's Cultural Palace.
Some famous local and foreign language experts and about 30 thousand citizens are expected to gather in the capital city's Working People's Culture Palace this weekend to join a large-scale garden party on foreign language learning.

Dubbed as the 3rd Garden Party to Help Beijing Citizens Learn Foreign Language, over 40 famous foreign language training organizations including the New Oriental School and Global Ielts School have been invited to take part in the activity.

Lectures, foreign language study activities including games, riddles and tongue twisters will be included in the party. There will also be language corners of English, French, Spanish and Japanese as well for citizens to exchange their language skills with experts.

Also, the sponsor, the Administration of Beijing-Speaks-English Committee, will take this chance to recruit some local or foreign friends as volunteers to help other citizens learn foreign languages.

CRI's English service will also send a team of famous anchors and working staff to take part in the exchange activities.

Citizens can join the party by buying an entrance ticket for just 2 yuan.

The party is part of a range of activities to promote foreign language learning for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
