Three Chinese Films Gears up for Berlin Film Festival

Renowned Chinese cinematographer Gu Changwei's first movie "Peacock" is among the eleven films that will compete in next year's Berlin Film Festival.
Renowned Chinese cinematographer Gu Changwei's first movie "Peacock" is among the eleven films that will compete in next year's Berlin Film Festival.

"Peacock" is a coming-of-age tale about three children of a working-class family in the 1970s. It was widely acclaimed by Chinese college students when it was first screened at the Beijing Film Academy last month.

Another two movies that have been invited to the film festival are Lu Chuan's "Kekexili: Mountain Patrol" and Liu Xiaoqin's "Plastic Flowers.

The 55th Berlin International Film Festival will open on February 10, 2005 with the world premiere of R¨¦gis Wargnier's "Man to Man."
