The renowned Chinese photographer Gu Changwei hopes his first movie "Peacock" will compete in next year's Berlin Film Expo.

The renowned Chinese photographer Gu Changwei hopes his first movie "Peacock" will compete in next year's Berlin Film Expo.

Gu Changwei said that he has entered "Peacock" for the award but has to wait for the release of the nomination list on January 5th.

"Peacock" is a coming-of-age tale about three children of a working-class family in the 1970s.

It was widely acclaimed by Chinese college students when it was first screened in Beijing Film Academy last month.
