Former Player Opens Soccer School

A former player with the Chinese Men's National Soccer Team, has returned from Japan and founded a soccer school in his hometown.
A former player with the Chinese Men's National Soccer Team, Zhao Dayu, has returned from Japan and founded a soccer school in his hometown of Guangzhou in south China.

Zhao Dayu left the national soccer team after he was injured in a training match in 1986. Three years later, he went to Japan and became a soccer coach. He later on took on Japanese nationality and got a Japanese name.

Zhao Dayu then came back to China. After teaching in several soccer clubs, he set up his own club. While he is busy with his club, his wife and children are living in Japan. With hard work, the club has developed rapidly and now has more than 100 members.

He is also doing a bit of acting, playing two parts in a TV show during the 2002 World Cup.
