Kevin Garnett had 21 points to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 83-82 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Kevin Garnett had 21 points, 17 rebounds and nine assists to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 83-82 road victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Dallas played a strong game against Minnesota without their leading soccer Dirk Nowitzki, but the Mavericks could not hold on to a 12-point lead with five minutes to play.

Garnett made two key free throws with 5.9 seconds remaining to give Minnesota the lead and Trenton Hassell blocked Jerry Stackhouse's long jumper at the buzzer to seal the win for the Wolves.

Sam Cassell added 16 points for the Timberwolves, while Troy Hudson added 11.

Josh Howard led the Mavericks with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Devin Harris had 14 points.
