China Internet Gaming(CIG) was launched by the Ministry of Information Industry in 2002.

Its task is to promote the whole internet gaming industry, providing an interactive platform for the telecommunication operators, IT enterprises, gaming developers, Internet bars and common users.

The deputy general secretary of the CIG organizing committee Feng Hong says the gaming essence is entertainment plus internet value-added services.

He says the CIG also means Cyber Internet Gaming. The CIG organizing committee is planning to cooprate with Singapore and South Korea to launch a Asian Internet gaming competition.

Currently, South Korea's gaming industry is the Asian or even the world's most advanced.
