Shanghai Forte to Double Home Sales in 2nd Half

Shanghai Forte Land Company plans to sell 500,000 square metres of housing in the second half of this year.

Shanghai Forte Land Company, the largest listed developer in Shanghai, plans to sell 500,000 square metres of housing in the second half of this year.

Forte's target will be more than double the amount of nearly 200,700 square metres in the first six months.

The company, which also has developments in the nearby cities of Nanjing and Wuhan, is in talks with other developers in Shanghai and Beijing to cooperate on or acquire more projects.

Forte is also keeping an eye looking for more ventures with overseas funds.

China's property prices are forecast to rise in the second half and housing demand remains particularly strong in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
