African First Ladies to Meet in Kigali over HIV/AIDS

Four African first ladies will attend the committee meeting of the Organization of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS in Kigali, Rwanda on Friday.
The first ladies of Burundi, Ghana, Mali and Zambia will discuss the anti-AIDS strategic plan developed in Kigali earlier this year and other priorities and strategies for the next two years.

The first ladies of Mozambique and Kenya will send representatives to the meeting.

The Organization of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS was formed in 2002. Its current president is Rwandan First Lady Jeannette Kagame.

Some 27 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa region are reportedly living with HIV, including the 3.2 million who became infected last year.
