Ukraine opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko has demanded a new presidential election be held.

Ukraine opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko has demanded a new presidential election be held to replace last weekend's vote which he believes was marred with fraud.

Yushchenko made this remark Friday when he addressing tens of thousands of supporters in Kiev's Independence Square.

The opposition leader noted that he has rejected a proposal by Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich to submit irregularities to the courts after a meeting between them.

Outgoing President Leonid Kuchma, who also attended the meeting, said the two presidential contenders have agreed to set up a working group for further talks.
