A newborn baby boy is the Chinese Mainland's 1.3 billionth citizen. He was born early on Thursday morning in Beijing, around two minutes after midnight. The mother and baby are both well. Officials say China's successful family planning policy over the past 30 years has meant the birth of the 1.3 billionth person has been delayed by four years. A Chinese family planning official says the one-child policy will continue in China despite concerns about low urban birth rates and an aging population. China has the biggest population of any country in the world followed by India with a population of 1.06 billion.
