Chinese People Keep Donating to Tsunami-hit Countries

Donations from Chinese people to the victims of tsunami-hit countries have increased to nearly 125 million yuan.

Donations from Chinese people to the tsunami-hit south and southeast Asian countries have increased to nearly 125 million yuan, or 15 million U.S. dollars.

The donations were collected by the Red Cross Society of China, the China Charity Foundation and their local operations.

Civil affairs departments at various levels have also received donations.

Meanwhile a charity concert "Love from China", opened in Beijing on Sunday evening.

The performance, sponsored by China Radio International and 24 other media organisations, is being held by Beijing Red Cross Association, involving more than 60 pop stars.
