A high-ranking delegation led by Chinese Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai is now in Cairo for a three-day visit aimed at promoting economic cooperation between the two countries.

The visit comes as part of China's efforts to further develop bilateral relations, especially economic cooperation, following a summit between Chinese President Hu Jintao and his Egyptian counterpart Hosni Mubarak in January.

The delegation will also seek to further enhance Chinese investment in Egypt, especially in the Northwest Economic Zone of the Gulf of Suez.

Bo Xilai is expected to open an Egypt-China economic and trade cooperation forum with Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazef on Sunday as Egyptian and Chinese entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to explore ways of cooperation.

The Chinese minister will also meet with President Mubarak on Monday to talk about bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
