The Chinese Ministry of Health has issued a notice, asking local health departments to further strengthen AIDS prevention and treatment.

The requirements include strengthening epidemic surveillance, improving medical service and stepping up publicity work.

Chinese leaders recently noted that China still faces a very serious AIDS epidemic.
