Related Event: 5th Anniversary of Macao's Return to China
President Hu Jintao has spoken highly of the successful practice of One Country, Two Systems in the Macao Special Administrative Region during a celebration marking the 5th anniversary of its return to the motherland and the inauguration ceremony of Macao's second-term government.
He praised Macao's achievements over the past 5 years, and promised strong support from the Chinese mainland to the region.

Earlier in front of President Hu Jintao, Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah and principal officials of the Macao SAR government were sworn into office.
Chief Executive Edmund Ho told the inauguration ceremony that Macao will continue its contribution to the practice of Macao people governing Macao with a high degree of autonomy.
Edmund Ho's first administration has won itself a good reputation over the past five years. He was appointed to a second term by Premier Wen Jiabao in September this year after he gained a 99 percent support rate in the SAR's chief executive election in August.
The State Council has also approved that all principal officials remain unchanged for the second-term Macao SAR government.
