Unemployment Rate in Macao Reaches Lowest Level
2004-12-18 20:48:30     CRIENGLISH.com
A survey shows the unemployment rate in Macao was 4.5 percent from August to October, the lowest level for six years, and 1.5 percent lower than the same period last year.
This trend is largely due to the healthy employment situation in the entertainment and gambling sectors in recent months.

But manufacturing is not doing so well, with the August to October unemployment rate higher than in the period May to July.

Analysts point out that the overall jobless rate in Macao has declined this year because of rapid economic growth and broadened employment channels.
