China is taking more measures to prevent HIV/AIDS transmission from mother to baby.

The Chinese Ministry of Health has set out to spread knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention, and offer free examinations of pregnant women's HIV indicators.

The Ministry also said medical institutions should provide free antivirus therapies to pregnant HIV-infected women and children.

China officially estimates it has 840,000 people with HIV/AIDS and about 40,000-50,000 orphans with at least one parent dead of HIV/AIDS.
