The head of the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau, Jin Dapeng, says the city attaches great importance to preventing AIDS.
The head of the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau, Jin Dapeng, says the city attaches great importance to preventing AIDS.

He explains that Beijing has set up a working committee to arrange the prevention and treatment of AIDS, as well as work out guidelines to deal with the disease.

Jin Dapeng notes that the municipal government has decided to provide free treatment and medicine to AIDS patients and offer economic aid to poverty-stricken patients.

The health official adds that Beijing will launch a series of activities to popularize knowledge of the disease.
