China is planning to accept more civilian applications for operator positions in State-owned enterprises, rather than having them appointed from government departments.

State assets supervisor Li Rongrong says state-owned enterprises will choose from those who apply to get the position and hire them for a year and then sign three-year contracts with those who do well.

In the past two years, about 30 enterprises have employed 30 senior managers from home and abroad, attracting over 1,500 people to apply for the positions.
