European leaders have reaffirmed their adherence to one-China policy during separate talks with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing.
The European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso told the Chinese minister that the European Union will try to push forward its relationship with China while cautiously handling some sensitive issues concerning bilateral ties.
Meanwhile, Luxemburg's Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker and Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn have hailed China's positive role in the international community and vow to push Luxembourg-China cooperation to a new high, especially in regarding the economy and trade.
Luxemburg currently holds the rotating presidency of the EU. The foreign minister also pledged to try to get all 25 EU nations to agree to lift the arms embargo on China during the first half of this year.
