UEFA Bans Celtic Midfielder Lennon for Two Games

Celtic midfielder Neil Lennon has been banned for two European games after his improper conduct, theEuropean soccer governing body UEFA said on Friday.

Lennon, the Northern Ireland international, was suspended after confronting Swiss referee Urs Meier following a late penalty decision which handed French side Olympique Lyon a 3-2 victory anda place in the Champions League knock-out stages.

Lennon will miss both legs of Celtic's UEFA Cup third round tieagainst FK Teplice of the Czech Republic. The fixtures are due to be played on February 26 and March 3.

Celtic have until Sunday to appeal against the decision.
