Cameroon, Nigeria Win Soccer Golds in All Africa Games

The hosts Nigeria won the women's soccer title when Cameroon took the men's crown at the 8th All Africa Games.
 

The Nigerian women defeated South Africa 1-0 at the Abuja National Stadium while their men compatriots suffered a 2-0 defeatagainst Cameroon in the final.

In the women's final, the Nigerians dominated the field, cornering South Africans into defense-oriented tactics.

Midfielder Blessing Igbojionu scored the winner with five minutes into the action.

Since then, the Nigerians unleashed a series of shots, but noneof them found the net again.

However, the Nigerian men were defeated by Cameroon as forwar Marcus Mokake Mwanbo and midfielder Paul Essola scored respectively for the winners, a repitition at the 2000 Africa Football Championship in Lagos, the economy capital of Nigeria.
