Forty-eight companies including four among the world's top 500 held a recruitment event at the
Diaoyutai State Guesthouse for people who have studied abroad. More than 500 people attended.

Organizers said big state-owned companies are vitally important to the national economy and security. Recruiting excellent professionals both domestically and from overseas will boost their competitiveness.

The companies want to employ over 200 overseas professionals and believe they will be attracted by the good opportunities.

The event was co-sponsored by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) and the Communist Youth League of China's Central Committee.

The latter has organized three such events in the past, together with governmental departments, resulting in the employment of more than 1,700people from overseas.
