The European Union and Russia have urged Ukraine leaders to find a nonviolent solution to the election crisis.

The European Union and Russia have urged Ukraine leaders to find a nonviolent solution to the election crisis.

The Netherlands' Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende says the EU can not accept the election results, while Russian President Vladimir Putin says all issue linked to the election results should be solved in accordance with the Constitution.

Besides the Ukrainian situation, the EU and Russian leaders also exchanged views on Kyoto protocol, anti-terrorism and Caucasus regional issues at the one-day summit which ended Thursday in the Hague.
