Print works by Pablo Picasso will go on show at the Beijing Imperial City Art Gallery starting this Saturday.

The organizers are now recruiting volunteers to explain the paintings to the visitors during the show.

The exhibition is part of the ongoing French Culture Year and will be the largest Picasso show in China, with 265 authorized prints in eight series.

Insurance for the exhibits is reported to have exceeded 100 million yuan.

Thirty-four copperplate engravings, entitled "Cocked Hat" are being displayed to the public for the first time.

Pablo Picasso was one of the most distinguished artists of the 20th century, and probably the most versatile of all throughout the history of printmaking in his style and technique.

The exhibition will last for 2 months.
