Man builds exosuit to help carry heavy objects
   2017-02-17 20:11:28    CRIENGLISH.com      Web Editor: Xu Yaqi

28-year-old Zhang Long displayed the "exosuit" he built by himself in Jilin City of northeast China's Jilin Province on Wednesday.

Zhang's goal is to assist blue-collar workers with extra strength to carry more heavy objects. This 10-kilogram metal suit was rebuilt based on a "simplified prototype" he made out of wood in last March that already helped him lift gas tanks.

The idea of an exoskeleton suit (exosuit) is the external skeleton that supports and protects a human body. An exosuit is usually powered by electric motors, hydraulics, or a combination of technologies that allow for limb movement with increased strength and endurance. [Photo: IC]
