Shall we stand on the right-hand side of the escalator no more

We've all been taught to have consideration for others. In school, teachers tell us to walk on the right-hand side and reserve the left-hand side for our pedestrians; on the road, we drive on the right-hand side for the same reason in China.

However, this is no longer the case on an escalator. Severe wear and tear of the right-hand side of escalators has put people's lives in danger. Recently, many big cities in China have removed the signs of indication on escalators.
