The Sino-Russian Fund of Culture and Education has signed an agreement with Russian studios on the remake of Russian film Amphibian Man.

Amphibian Man is a 1961 sci-fi romance based on a novel by Alexander Beliaev.

Chinese actors will fill all leading roles in the remake.

Shooting is expected to begin in 2018 in China and Crimea.

It marks the start of a major collaboration between Chinese and Russian film companies.

China's Central Television and Russia's Glavkino film studio will cooperate on a series of documentaries about the history of Chinese-Soviet relations.
